About the workIf you blow a little air into the glassmaker’s pipe and let the glass sink under its own gravity, a drop shape is created. In a way, it is the most natural product of working at the furnace. It takes considerable craftsmanship to repeat the shape in the series. The vase is listed in two Venini glassworks catalogues from the 1940–1960s, the “blue” and “red” catalogues under the model number 3900.
