About the workThe model drawing for the glass has survived. It is described as “ambra chiarissima iridata”, “clearest amber colour, iridescent”. The vase belongs to a series of asymmetrically shaped vessels that Enrico Potz designed for Aureliano Toso in 1964. Potz had been employed two years earlier as an assistant to the artist Dino Martens and continued his direction of free designs. In 1963, Aureliano’s son, Gianfranco Toso, became a partner in the company and endeavoured to produce lighting fixtures on a semi-industrial scale. Since then, the artistic orientation has played a diminishing role.
