About the workThe figures were created in free work at the furnace. They are not individual pieces, but parts of a series for which preliminary drawings and colour specifications have been preserved. Around 1960, the brothers Giusto and Renato Toso worked as designers for the glassworks. Shortly before this, both had begun studying architecture in Venice and continued their design work in the meantime. A few years later, Fratelli Toso and other glassworks were faced with the decision to abandon artistically oriented manual production in favour of semi-automated factory production.
