About the workThe vase is signed “Salviati Venezia” under the base. Its execution in the period around 1960 is documented by its collection history. At the beginning of the 1960s, the art critic and museum director Herbert Griebitzsch established a contemporary glass collection in the museum he ran in Oberhausen Castle, which included this vase. In the 1980s, the museum reorganised itself and eventually sold the collection to Düsseldorf. It is of great value for the documentation of genuine works from the 1950s and 60s.
