on display, room G 17 About the workThe name Gio Ponti was already a legend in the 1950s: With the founding of the magazine “domus” in 1928 or the construction of the “Pirelli” skyscraper in Milan in 1956, the architect and designer left his mark on modernism in Italy for many decades. Ponti only worked for the Venini glassworks for a short time in 1946/47. He actually also designed glass decanters there, but it is difficult to determine to what extent he was responsible for the many models that are attributed to him. Nevertheless, this bottle was acquired from Venini very early on, around 1962, and ended up in the Hentrich Glass Museum in 1992.
