About the workThe decoration of the vase is reminiscent of colourful pennants attached to poles. Within the mosaic of coloured glass rods, the transparent coloured glasses appear to float in front of a white background. The vase is one of Anzolo Fuga’s earliest series since he began working for A.VE.M. in 1955. Fuga came from one of the oldest families in the Venetian glass art trade and had previously worked as a glass painter. A.VE.M. had supplied him with raw glass for his paintings, and now he was able to realise his ideas directly at the furnace in the glassworks.
