About the workThere is probably no direct model for the bowl. Nevertheless, the method of production, thin walls and ribbed structure are entirely in the tradition of Venetian glass art from the 15th to 18th centuries. Modern features include the lack of rich decoration and the size of the bowl, but above all the delicate colouring, which was only made possible by advances in glass technology in the 19th century. The master glassmaker Giovanni Seguso, known as Nane Patàre, used this in a restrained manner.
