About the workThese wine glasses by Viennese architect and designer Otto Prutscher embody the transition from the playful designs of Art Nouveau to a simpler style with clear shapes and colors. The finely structured stem is reminiscent of architectural forms. Together with the precise cut of the bowl, it gives the glasses an elegant, almost graphic effect. Prutscher, who initially worked as an independent architect, increasingly produced furniture and glass designs for the Wiener Werkstätten from 1907 onwards.
