About the workThe invention of the water carafe with a cup as a stopper probably dates back to around 1800. It has long proved its worth on bedside tables and continues to inspire designers to create new designs. This set bears the engraved signature of the Venetian architect and designer Peter Pelzel and is dated 1962. In the same year, it was presented in the architecture and interior design magazine domus. The Vistosi glassworks, which was only founded in 1945, stood out at the time with particularly fresh design ideas. Lighting fixtures are still produced under the Vistosi brand today.
