About the workThe relationship between architecture, gender roles, sexuality and power is the main subject of Monica Bonvicini’s art. In the title of this work, the Berlin-based Italian refers to a misogynistic statement made in 2005 by Donald Trump, who later became president of the US: "And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ‘em by the pussy." Bonvicini reverses the roles: positioned at crotch height, the bronze female hand threatens the male audience with a gripping gesture.
