About the workIs this creature in ist sleeping bag ashamed or is it afraid? Kris Lemsalu creates works in which opposites merge: the beautiful and the repulsive, life and death, the animal world and humanity, nature and the artificial. Using animal carcasses, porcelain and materials found in nature, the Estonian artist creates mystical fantasy worlds and figures that celebrate otherness. They can be bizarre, humorous and frightening at the same time – just like life itself.
