Group of figures, clothes, shoes, wood construction, tape
(H x W x D)183 × 85 × 340 cm
About the workSkeleton-like wooden constructions were wrapped with packing materials and adhesive tape and then fitted with discarded clothing. The poorly dressed figures by Berlinbased artist Iris Kettner appear irritatingly lifelike and lifeless at the same time. These anonymous city dwellers, reduced to an existence as a shell, have joined a queue that has no destination, no meaning and no purpose. They are representative of today’s social inequality and conflicts – Kettner encourages viewers to pay attention to those who are otherwise often invisible.
