About the workTowards the end of her studies in 1965, Chris Reinecke was already exploring the relationship between an object and the space surrounding it. The artist adopted a new point of view, no longer focussing on a self-contained pictorial space. The sequence of objects is determined by the viewer’s perspective, beginning in the living room and leading from there to outside the window. "Abstandsmessung" ("Distance-Measuring") shows such a sequence in the form of a fanfold.
