About the workA work that is formed by means of artificial intelligence: geometric shapes move freely around the space and react with each other. If a circle and a triangle collide, they disintegrate into a multitude of small cubes. The programme designs the forms, which constantly make new, independent decisions. This piece by the Düsseldorf artist duo Banz & Bowinkel was shown at the NRW Forum’s first “AR Biennale” in 2021: with the augmented reality technology used here – the placement of digital artworks in a real environment – it represents an important new art form.
