About the workWith the iMac, Jony Ive developed one of the first independent designs for a PC. He integrated the screen, computer and speakers into a transparent plastic housing. At that time, computers with separate monitors and box-shaped base units were common. The company also set new technical standards: they dispensed with the customary floppy disk drive as well as separate connections for printers and modems; instead, there was a USB port for all data transfer.
