About the workThe openings of this vessel look like five bottle mouths. Such vases were made from faience ceramics as early as the end of the 17th century in Delft in the Netherlands and were rediscovered in the 19th century. The universal artist and glass designer Vittorio Zecchin took up this suggestion and had it realised in the clear lines of the glassworks V.S.M. Cappellin Venini & C., founded in 1921. The vase bears no mark. It is probably an early product of the company, but an imitation by another glassworks in Murano cannot be ruled out.
