About the workWith its humorous formal vocabulary, “Neues Deutsches Design” (New German Design) emerged in the 1980s as a counter-movement to the mainstream, functional and technologically influenced design concept of the post-war period. The designer and artist Stiletto used the most basic items from the hardware store to make a lamp in a flower pot. His rustic creation is an ironic commentary on both practical, industrially manufactured lamps made of glass and metal and the German allotment idyll.
