About the workHousehold goods for those who have no choice, who reach for whatever is cheapest – Petrus Marinus Cochius, a self-described “practical idealist”, had this in mind when he took over the overall management of the Leerdam glass factory in 1912. From then on, simple glassware suitable for everyday use conquered Dutch homes and influenced design sensibilities. This small water set bears witness to the high standards of design required to achieve simplicity. Cornelis de Lorm, who was a self-taught designer, worked freelance for Leerdam from 1917 to 1926.
