About the workA tiny notch turns a cylindrical vase into a jug. The spout varies on comparable pieces—obviously precision was not the aim here. This gives the vessel a personal touch and sets it against the industrial design of the time. The “spicchi” series—slices or carvings, or pieces of fruit—is said to be the work of both the graphic designer and illustrator Fulvio Bianconi and the designer and architect Massimo Vignelli. Both worked in Milan and created designs for the Venini glassworks.
