About the workWhen the graphic designer and illustrator Fulvio Bianconi was commissioned to design perfume bottles in 1946, he travelled to Murano to learn about glass production. There he met Paolo Venini and began working for his glassworks. Success came in 1948 with figurative works inspired by the Commedia dell’Arte: the Italian impromptu theatre that emerged in the 16th century. This statuette is a sample from Bianconi’s collection. A stress fracture prevented the completion of a more colourful costume figure.
