About the workThese drawings in red chalk with white accents on blue paper show how precisely the artist Guiseppe Passeri planned the structure of his paintings. The repetition of motifs illustrates the careful search for the final form. Passeri was one of the most versatile artists in Rome around 1700, working not only for the church but also for numerous private patrons. The Lambert Krahe collection contains more drawings by Passeri than by any other artist
