About the workAn 1853 review of Caspar Scheuren’s graphic works in the “Deutsches Kunstblatt” journal stated: “The commemorative prints for the singing and artists’ festival, as well as the trade exhibition for the Rhineland and Westphalia, are splendid, unsurpassed by any published in Paris and London. They are beautifully and ingeniously composed with extraordinary richness.” The article also emphasised the brilliance of their colours. A partial edition of the poster for the Düsseldorf Trade Exhibition of 1852 was published as a souvenir for participating companies.
