About the workLet your mind wander: in these works, the German Swiss photographer André Gelpke presents places that invite viewers to contemplate personal memories. People and architectural elements appear fragmentary, often seen from behind or positioned at the edge of the frame. The photographs capture spontaneous, fleeting moments. Gelpke’s poetic imagery combines precise observation with a tranquil atmosphere, drawing attention to the complex relationship between people, space and landscape, which is not clearly defined in the photographs.
