Both the urban hustle and bustle of Berlin and the rural life of Brandenburg aroused her interest. The East Berlin photographer’s images reveal her sense of the moment: Be it a look that seems to symbolise the emotional world of an entire generation, or the view of two fallen angel statues that could also be read as a subtle reference to the destruction of numerous churches by the GDR regime.
