About the workHalina Jaworski’s “Headshot” belongs to the series of “Ecksen”. These are polygonal, relief-like objects made of canvas that the artist has been developing since 1979. Born in Gdańsk and trained in Jerusalem and Düsseldorf, Jaworski references political and religious themes in this series. In these abstract works, the paint extends beyond the boundaries of the angular forms, giving them a new shape. Combined with the title, the work evokes associations with murder, violence, war, but also with psychological wounds.
