About the workDuring his studies under the sculptor Josef Wagner at the School of Applied Arts in Prague, Jan Fišar focused on Baroque art. Sculptures from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries are omnipresent in the Czech Republic; Fišar explored their physicality and their expression of passion. This work belongs to his “Stones” series. There are allusions to male forms, but the outline could equally be inspired by Greek helmets.
