About the workFrom 1921 to 1925, a dramatic change took place in Venetian glass art. In 1921, the Venetian art dealer Giacomo Cappellin and the Milanese lawyer Paolo Venini and other partners took over a glassworks in Murano. They appointed an artistic director, the versatile artist Vittorio Zecchin, and the 70-year-old glassmaker Giovanni Seguso, known as Nane Patàre, as technical director. This collaboration resulted in works such as this vase, which stood out in their clarity and heralded a new era for Venetian glass art.
