About the workFor thousands of years, it was inconceivable to create a glass object that had no underlying utilitarian purpose. In Europe, the former Czechoslovakia was the first country where free sculptural experimentation with glass was practised. Glass products were an important economic factor there, and their distribution was centralised. The works were given imaginative titles without consulting the artists themselves, such as the “Striding Kohlrabi” here.
