About the workKarin Götz, who produces art under the pseudonym Rissa, studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1960 to 1965; after graduating, she married Karl Otto Götz, who had been her teacher. Her pictorial inventions are characterised by the deliberate inclusion of chance. She either takes a direct look at an unusual situation in everyday life or combines various observations to arrive at a seemingly surreal figuration. Her motifs are formed from small, abstract, coloured shapes that make the objects appear even more unfamiliar.
