About the workConstruction steel, bare concrete – this armchair by artist and designer Heinz H. Landes is not only an ironic sideswipe at an ordinarily comfortable piece of furniture; it was also intended to be provocative, to challenge established ideas about functional and visually appealing design. In his pieces, Landes sought to reflect cultural diversity and the changes in metropolitan attitudes to life in connection with influences from punk and everyday culture.
