About the workEvery face harbours enigmas, which can dissolve through getting to know a person better. Yet this girl remains distant. Who is she? She could be a native of the rural Romanian region where the artist originates from. The portrait is part of an extensive series of works on the “Anatomy of Glass”. In each case, the glass encloses a metal foil drawing, serving as a background, in which red and green colours are embedded. Mihai Țopescu studied at the Art Academy in Cluj-Napoca (Klausenburg) and has worked with glass as a freelance artist since the 1980s.
