About the workGlass factories and distributors maintain design archives of their products: full-size paper silhouettes of pieces that show the shape of their outline. They serve as templates for the work carried out at the furnace. The archive of the Lötz glass factory contains a large number of models – 500 to 800 were added each year. The design of this vase was also preserved. It was usually only possible to make one to three copies of luxury items like this during a single session. Depending on the orders received, the models could return to production several times.
