About the workA vase that is no longer a vase. This object concludes a long development that was significant for glass art in Murano. Alongside lighting fixtures, the vase is the most important product with which the creative possibilities of mouth-blown glass can be expressed. The vase can serve as a utilitarian object for floral decoration—dried flowers in this case—or as a sculpture in its own right. Giorgio Taverniti worked as a designer for the Salviati glassworks for two years from the end of 1969, before becoming a freelance painter and sculptor.
