About the work“Ovoid” – the name of this set is as simple as its design. Its creator, the architect Hendrik P. Berlage, was a major pioneer of modern Dutch architecture around 1900. He had already designed glasses at this time, but they were made in France. In 1923, Petrus Marinus Cochius, the like-minded director of the Leerdam glass factory, succeeded in attracting the star architect to his company. Berlage continued to make contributions to Leerdam until 1929.
