not on displayAmerican architect and designer Michael Graves created this kettle, whose red bird whistles when the water boils. The bird motif is reminiscent of the decorations on classic American porcelain tea sets from the 19th century. In the years that followed, Graves developed an entire product line, including a pepper mill and sugar bowl. He used shapes from art, architecture and everyday life to design objects that were as creative as they were unusual.
