About the workAsymmetrical shapes and a subtle contrast between the gold plating and the clear bands of colour characterise this series. In the year of its creation, parts of it were exhibited in Milan and Paris. Since its foundation in 1932, the glassworks had built up sales, particularly in the USA, and mainly produced glassware without artistic aspirations. The glass painter and designer Anzolo Fuga, who had been working for A.VE.M since 1955, made a significant contribution to the development of a contemporary artistic programme for which the company became widely known in the 1950s and 60s.
