Drip Sphere, 1964
MediumAcrylic glass, water
(H x Ø)30,5 × 30,5 cm
About the workHans Haacke explored the physical laws of nature. This sphere contains water; depending on the temperature, the liquid forms drops that flow into each other and run through the grid. To see these subtle changes, you have to spend some time in front of the object. Here, Haacke has created a performance with the aid of water, an element that is the basis of all life but often taken for granted.
