About the workThis is the only joint work by the three ZERO members Heinz Mack, Otto Piene and Günther Uecker. Displeased that the Italian artist Lucio Fontana had not been invited to the documenta exhibition in Kassel in 1964, they created this ensemble from various light machines. These items are not only interesting objects; they also produce different light effects that form moving images on the walls of the space. The three artists collaboratively designed the two light mills. The piece also includes a projection after a Fontana painting.
