About the workThis work was created as part of an action with the audience: participants were asked to place different coloured chewing gum on the head drawn by Chris Reinecke. Over the years, the visual appearance has completely changed due to the brownish discolouration. By involving the visitors in the artistic process, Reinecke wanted to dissolve the boundaries between artists and viewers. This was also the case in the art project "LIDL", which she launched with Jörg Immendorff in Düsseldorf in 1968 and which included happenings outside the art world until 1970.
