About the workArman introduced the term “accumulation” to describe his works: this refers to items arranged in groups that the artist presented as art objects. In this relief, the repetition of several jugs of the same kind with both sides on display allows their similarities and differences to emerge. Things that are old and discarded become worthy of art. Together with Yves Klein, Arman was a co-founder of the “Nouveaux Réalistes” (New Realists), an artistic community whose goal was to create literally tangible art.
