About the workA “nero ossidato”, “oxidised black”, characterises the surface of this vase. The metal oxides applied to the glass create a contrast to the enclosed luminous colour fusions, but also to the immaculately clear glass that shines through everywhere. The technique was developed jointly by the two designers of the glassworks, Ermanno Toso and Pollio Perelda, around 1961. Toso mainly contributed individual pieces, while Perelda’s task was to create series that sold well.
