About the workIn 2004, a special exhibition featuring many of Émile Gallé’s glass pieces was held in Gingins, Switzerland, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his death. A burglary took place in which several loaned works were stolen. They have still not been recovered to this day. A bowl belonging to the Kunstpalast was stolen and this vase was destroyed and partly removed. Today, these fragments are all that remains of the item.
