About the workWith its studs, this beaker imitates a famous gnarled piece of wood: Hercules’ club. The legend of the twelve superhuman exploits of this ancient demigod was popular everywhere, but people would also tell the story of his passion for drinking sessions. His destiny unfolds somewhere between drunkenness and heroism, as he slays many a drinking companion while inebriated. The cup symbolises the strength and virtue of the hero and at the same time warns of the power of intoxication. This club is fragile, but it will cause the downfall of anyone who drinks too much from it.
