not on displayThe Düsseldorf-based artist Rosemarie Trockel is international renowned for her paintings and conceptual works. With the 60 Faux Croco stool, she presented her first reinterpretation of a design classic. The original, made of birch wood with its characteristic L-shaped legs, was designed in 1933 by the Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto. Trockel completely covered the stool in a faux crocodile leather finish. She had already developed the idea back in 2023. The artist had previously explored this material in earlier works, being particularly drawn to its distinctive texture and tactile quality.
