on display, room 005.1An inconspicuous lift. Only at second glance do we realise that the laws of physics have apparently been suspended. Where does the shaft end? Are we standing inside or outside the elevator? Argentinian conceptual artist Leandro Erlich explores the fundamentals of perception. His works resemble everyday situations that invite interaction and surprise with their illusion. In this way, he lends a kind of magic to the banal. In 2001, the then 28-year-old Erlich was one of the youngest artists to represent their country at the Venice Biennale.
