About the workThe little man sits quietly on the tree stump. His body is covered with bumps: is he afflicted with a disease? Is he a fantasy figure? With his hands placed contentedly in his lap and his gaze wandering upwards, he seems to be waiting for something and invites us to linger together with him on his tree stump. With her works, Düsseldorf-based artist Paloma Varga Weisz offers a glimpse into a world of strange creatures. She repeats many of the motifs. Another "Bumpman" sits on the canopy of Düsseldorf’s main railway station.
