About the workA handmade digital clock in Berlin: using battery-powered screwdrivers and wooden slats, 70 workers build a four-by-twelve-metre clock for “Standard Time” that is synchronised to the correct time. The clock was rebuilt a total of 1611 times during the 24-hour period. The performance by Berlin artist Mark Formanek has also become a historical document, as numerous new buildings have since been erected on the former wasteland between Kreuzberg and Mitte.
