About the workIn the summer of 1977, Marianne Trautvetter photographed all of the pictures that were hanging on the walls of the Kunstpalast at that time to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the museum. She presented the 624 individual images in the form of 17 strips of contact prints glued onto paper. The work constitutes a kind of register or unordered inventory. The contact strips, which document the chronological sequence in which the photographs were taken, dictate the arrangement of the individual artworks.
