About the workIt is a “mostly decorative item”, according to the Milanese fashion brand Sunnei. In fact, a small area of this object has been ground flat so that it can be displayed. Sunnei has a series of erotic toys in its programme, which are handcrafted in collaboration with a glassworks in Murano. The theme has a long tradition on the island near Venice: the writer Pietro Aretino devoted a significant section to it in satirical dialogues from 1534.
