About the workThe clear, functional design is the defining feature of this desk with its striking tabletop on top of the drawer section. At the same time, the slender metal construction almost makes the furniture look like it is floating. The desk was created by the now almost forgotten designer and architect Christa von Paleske. In the 1950s, she was one of the few women to assert herself in a male-dominated profession. She stopped working abruptly in the late 1950s.
